SMASH is open to all young people aged 11 (or in Year 6) to 18 years old and is a theatre/choir group that meets on Monday nights from 5 - 6pm term time at St. Matthew's Church.
For the last six years we have put on an annual production including themed concerts, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and two jukebox musicals (OZ and Peter Pan). Last year's production was Grease. SMASH has also performed at Chapel Allerton Arts Festival, Nine Lessons and Carols Service and a joint drama evening with Stainbeck United Reformed Church.
The productions always raise money for various charities for example Great Ormond Street Hospital, Barnardos, World Land Trust, Christian Aid, World Wildlife Fund, Childline, The Bishop of Ripon and Leeds Sri Lankan Tsunami Appeal and Oxfam.
